Sheriff provides brief statement on human remains

Osage – During the most recent regular meeting of the Mitchell County Board of Supervisors, Mitchell County Sheriff Greg Beaver gave a brief statement regarding the human remains found in mid-July near the Cedar River Greenbelt Trail.
“We’re waiting on the lab on the human remains,” Beaver said, “It could be another 30 days. We’re hopeful through DNA we can maybe find out exactly who it is and then find out what happened.”
The Cedar River Greenbelt Trail runs adjacent to the Cedar River between Mitchell and the Mitchell County Conservation, which is located 1.5 miles outside of Osage.
