SIOUX CENTER — St. Ansgar senior punter Logan Rysavy made it official by signing his national letter of intent to play football at Dordt University on Friday, Dec. 17.
Rysavy, who punted and did the extra-point kicking for the Saints, is joining the NAIA school which finished 7-3 in 2021.
“I chose Dordt because they have a great football program that I look forward to playing for,” Rysavy said. “I think that the industry standard is a great motto and I will fit in well with it.”
Punting 15 times for 513 yards, Rysavy averaged 34.2 yards per punt this season for coach Drew Clevenger’s team.
He also was 17-of-22 in extra-point attempts and missed his lone field goal attempt of the season. Rysavy will join a special teams group for the Defenders that all should return in 2022. He plans to major in industrial engineering technology.
“They had my major in which I hope to extend my learning from high school,” Rysavy said, “and then come back to where I live and work for a local business. (It is an) all-around great school to go to.”
