The Dubuque native has lived most of his life there and is coming in after completing the 2023-24 season at Dubuque Senior High School.

“I’m from Dubuque, born and raised, went to Dubuque Senior, a five-sport athlete,” Kohl said. “I went to the University of Dubuque, majored in secondary education. From there, I went to UNI for my Master’s in secondary education, completed Iowa Leadership Academy, with an admin endorsement. I coached high school football at the varsity and freshman level, coached men’s wrestling; currently coaching women’s wrestling at Dubuque Senior, as well as middle school track and strength and conditioning.

“I have three daughters, A five-year old and twin four-year-olds, so everything is about princesses right now. I formed Dubuque’s first girls youth wrestling program, which went well.”
