Osage eighth, Saints 10th at competitive North Iowa Indoor
CLEAR LAKE — Osage set new meet records to win a pair of events at the second annual North Iowa Indoor Championships hosted by Clear Lake on Friday, March 22.
The Green Devils notched the marks with a 400-meter performance by Quinn Street and the shuttle hurdle relay team of Parker Kisley, Sevryn Dodd, Noah Dalager and Sage Christensen.
Coach Scott Hoppel’s team finished eighth out of 11 teams with 45 points.
St. Ansgar, meanwhile, had its best finish out of the 4×800 team of Christian Michels, Jayce Schwiesow, Lucan Knutson and Tyke Remster as runner-up for one of three teams to break the previous meet record. The Saints were 10th out of 11 with 27 points and were just one of two true small schools at the meet. (Central Springs was the other.)
Clear Lake boys won the team title with 90.5 points to sweep as the Lion girls won their portion of the meet the previous night.
Three of Osage’s hurdlers qualified for the finals with Dodd, Kisley and Dalager finishing fourth, sixth and eighth, respectively. Kisley and Dalager each ran PRs in that event.
Note: The St. Ansgar Co-Ed that was scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 was rescheduled to Monday, April 8 due to weather.
