MANLY — St. Ansgar senior setter Aspen Falk and senior libero Kinsey Anderson each passed milestones in their careers during the Saints’ 3-0 sweep of Central Springs on Monday, Sept. 11.

Falk tallied 27 assists, passing the 22 she needed to earn 1,000. Meanwhile, Anderson put up eight digs when needing only three to earn the 500th of her career during the 25-17, 25-17, 25-11 win over the Panthers in this road victory.

Impressive, since neither have played varsity all four years of their career.

“She didn’t play until her sophomore year,” coach Tyler Johnson said of Falk. “And, I believe we ran a 6-2 that year, so she might have been setting only half the time. And then ran the full 5-1 last year and this year.

“Kinsey, three years playing, she was obviously only libero last year and this year. Even on a night like tonight, she needed three and she only got eight. You think about the match, not that many balls got hit. She’s the one I thought for sure would have gotten it easily tonight. The other night, against Nashua, she had 15-16. To only have eight kind of surprised me.”
