Osage notches win at Forest City

FOREST CITY — Osage overcame an 8-6 halftime deficit to defeat Forest City for a 14-8 road Class 2A District 3 victory on Friday, Sept. 24.
Max Knudsen completed two touchdown passes to Ben Miller, one for a 47-yard catch-and-run as the Green Devils improved to 2-3 overall, 1-1 district.
Coach Torian Wolf’s team had a chance to go ahead before halftime, but a Knudsen pass was picked off at the seven-yard line late in the second quarter.
Knudsen, after last week’s performance, is third overall in Class 2A passing attempts at 63-of-124 for 919 yards and eight touchdowns. His receivers are averaging 14.6 yards per catch.
Brayden Onken toted the ball 19 times for 77 yards, but was held out of the end zone. He also caught four passes for 40 more.
Defensively, Cole Jeffries led the way with nine tackles, including eight solo stops while Nathan Havel added eight with two for losses. Barrett Muller sacked Forest City quarterback Carter Bruckhoff twice and Mac Muller recovered a fumble.
The Green Devils take on New Hampton (3-2, 2-0) on the road, Friday, Oct. 1.
