Dean fought for hisbrcountry in WWII. He participated in the D-day invasion, Battle of the Bulge andbrthe capture of Remagen Bridge. He drove a truck running supplies andbrgasoline to the front and was with the first troops into Paris.

By trade Dean was abrhome builder in Mason City for many years. He also built many beautifulbrpieces of furniture for family and friends.
