Flower planter project truly a community project

A joint effort between the St. Ansgar Chamber of Commerce and the St. Ansgar High school will soon bring the community new planters brimming with flowers.
Joyce Crowley, St. Ansgar Chamber of Commerce Vice President, said the current flower planters have been around for many years; they were made of thin tin and wood, and some are held together with duct tape.
Crowley, who is one of three members on the chamber sub-committee working on the planter replacements, said after researching the prefabricated planters in a variety material and size options, they were simply too expensive.
“We’ve been looking for quite a few years to get new planters,” Crowley said, “we wanted something similar to the planter in front of St. Ansgar State Bank.”
