Area teams compete against the best at Drake
DES MOINES — Both St. Ansgar and Osage track and field athletes took a turn against the best at the Blue Oval during the high school day at the Drake Relays last week.
The top finish among the area competitors was Paige Kisley of Osage in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at 15.55 seconds for seventh overall out of a field of 32.
She earned the place coming out of the second of three heats.
Among the boys’ St. Ansgar’s Riley Witt finished 10th in the 1,600, crossing the finish line 4:26.37. There were 21 long distance runners in the race.
