Edwin Duane Jordan, 90, of Northwood Pines Assisted Living,brNorthwood, IA, died February 25, 2021, at MercyOne in Mason City, IA.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday,brMarch 6, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, IA with Pastor MarkbrSquire officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitationbrwill be at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Edwin Duane Jordan was born July 2, 1930, in Mitchell Countybrto Ferdinand and Bertha (Bork) Jordan. He joined an older brother AlfredbrJordan. Edwin was baptized July 20, 1930, and confirmed his faith on April 2,br1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, IA.

He went to the Rock #2 country school. Edwin served in thebrarmy during the Korean War. He came home on leave and married Betty Bartz onbrFebruary 3, 1952, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, IA. After beingbrhonorably discharged from the military they began farming southwest of St.brAnsgar, IA. To this union two children were born, Linda and Larry.

He enjoyed farming and raising cattle, hogs, and chickens.brBesides farming he did side jobs such as custom corn shelling, baling hay,brcustom spraying, and selling McNess feed and Watkins products. He spent manybrsummer days mowing and baling the road ditches and took great pride in how theybrlooked. Edwin had a talent for tearing apart old machinery and makingbrsomething completely different out of it, such as round bale movers, andbrtrailers to haul machinery on, without any plans. He enjoyed using his sawmillbrthat could saw tree trunks up to 30 inches across into lumber. Ed got greatbrsatisfaction using his home sawed lumber to construct many heavy duty hay racksbrand shelves.

Edwin is preceded in death by his parents Ferdinand & BerthabrJordan, his wife Betty of 58 years, brother Alfred Jordan, brother-in-law ElmerbrSchultz, and in-laws Harvey & Malinda Bartz, and Dr. Russell & JudybrHickman. Edwin is survived by his daughter Linda (Kenneth) Kroneman of Osage,brIA, son Larry ‘Al’ (Linda) Jordan of Georgetown, TX, grandchildren RenaebrKroneman of Osage, IA, Travis (Megan) Kroneman of Osage, IA, Jessica (Coty)brBrasuell of Loveland, CO, Tresa (Kirk) Sehlmeyer of Port Angeles, WA, AmberbrJordan of Hutto, TX, great grandchildren Peyton, Caydence, and FaythbrKroneman, Jordan and Everett Brasuell, in-laws Bonnie (Virl) Deal of Grafton,brIA, Sharon (Alan) Anderson of Northwood, IA, and Richard (Jeannette) Bartz ofbrEauGalle, WI, and nieces and nephews.
