South Square introduces “Ladies Evening Out”
South Square held its very first “Ladies Evening Out” on Tuesday, hoping to kick off a new monthly gathering for women of St. Ansgar to enjoy.

Colleen Hollatz, an organizer of the event, said that the gathering is just a fun way for women of the town to socialize after work, or before they go home for supper.
rr
“The men have stag night, so we wanted something fun too,” Hollatz said.

The gatherings are open only to those 21 and over, and include adult beverages and appetizers.
r“We’ve had a really good turn out so far,” Hollatz said mid-way through the first event. “We were hoping for at least 5 people.”
rrMany more than 5 came, and the goal is for the event to turn into a monthly gathering, much like the men’s stag night at the Legion.
rAs of now, the events are scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on every second Tuesday of the month at South Square.
rThe name “Ladies Evening Out” was chosen because Ladies Night Out is taken by the much-larger annual fundraiser event held in the gym, which includes an array of decorated tables.
rThat event is scheduled to be held in October.
rProceeds from the events are slated to go into South Square’s general fund.
